My experience includes working in private practice under the direction of Dr. Peter Musser providing general psychotherapy services to people aged 14+ and up with family issues, adjustment disorders, trauma, substance use disorders, grief, anxiety, depression, and other co-occurring disorders. Additionally, I worked as a Primary Counselor for 5 years at Ashely Addiction Treatment Center where I provided individual counseling, group counseling, and family counseling. I worked as part of a treatment team and regularly consulted with the staff psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing staff, aftercare specialists, and other counselors to provide the most comprehensive care and the best aftercare plan for each individual.
As a seasoned substance abuse counselor, we will identify your patterns, triggers, & consequences. Taking responsibility for yourself is required. Abstinence versus harm reduction will be evaluated & anti-craving medications will be discussed. We will work together to develop a recovery plan that is suitable to you, to include Models of Recovery (AA and other models), Monitoring & Accountability, and Substance Use Assessments Available with Appropriate Referral I work with a large network of local providers, refer to other clinicians to enhance your care, and regularly consult with other clinicians involved in the care of you and your family.
